Finding your direction post yachting

Where to start???

Would you go to sea and not be prepared?

What ever department you’re in, you would think:

  • What provisions do I need? How much do I need? How long am I going to be away for?

  • How long will the journey be?

  • What is my contingency plan? Where can I go if things get bad?

  • How much fuel or stores do I need?

You get the idea…

You would plan and know what you’ve got, for where you’re going (or at least try and get as much information now before you start).

Even if you don’t know exactly your final destination, you still have a rough idea of what you’re starting with how long you could last with what you’ve got.

Well when it comes to leaving yachting

I think you kinda need the same approach, or at least to know what sort’ve vessel you’ve got, and the things that really work well, or the things that might need a bit of work.

You might not know all the answers, but you’ve at least set yourself up as good as you can, and prepared for the trip.

It’s kinda like creating a passage plan for your exit.

And, that starts with knowing who you are.

The number of crew who I’ve seen in the past go into roles without understanding what they are good at, what they enjoy doing and what they actually want in their future is shocking. So it’s not a surprise people feel stuck, as they don’t know which direction to go in. Then the things such as the golden handcuffs, glass ceiling and the fears all start to creep in.

Start here ‘learn yourself first’, and the opportunities for future career possibilities open up.

Because otherwise you are like a boat, lost at sea with your compass spinning, wondering where to go or where to anchor without knowing what you even want or will work for you.

If you want to get started, use this course to get you starting to develop your own self knowledge.

This is the one of the first steps in your passage plan.

If you want any more help with this, or to speak further about this, just get in touch.

I promise you, you will gain so much more clarity on yourself by investing some time into learning more about yourself.

There’s always social media platforms to get in touch with if you prefer.
